I am infinitely proud of my small rack, but it lacked the grandeur of my synth heroes. Synth performance is all about excess. I wanted a full “wall of synth” to make it a more interesting performance piece.
My dream was to have a literal wall of electronics, where I could patch my own synth, but also patch in the other instruments of a band and sync lights up directly to beats. I also wanted to move away from the Eurorack format, which is quite small, and decided to start building modules in 5U (8.75″).
